• To celebrate 145 years of Errington Reay pottery the creatives at the wheel and heart of ER have created a number of limited edition planters for you to enjoy and treasure. Each planter shape has been chosen for its practicalities in planting. Combining classical styles that have been made throughout our long history, united with forward thinking and fresh design elements that set these special pots apart from our regular range and celebrate our heritage and love for pottery. These pots are placed high in the kiln during the firing process to capture the very best colouring and variations created in our Beehive kiln. Fired to high temperatures and salt glazed using traditional methods which have stood the the test of time and produce a frost proof pot. A handmade pot with a light white clay body which when salt glazed produces a much lighter creamy finish when compared to the standard range. With a smooth top and base, this pot is highly decorated with a repeated imprint of our Errington Reay & Co banded logo. Drainage hole in base. Size Dia 38 Ht 33 cm

  • One of a kind This limited edition planter has been handmade by our potters in small batches and fired in the first soda firing in 25 years at Errington Reay, creating a special piece for the garden. In this atmospheric firing technique a soda and salt mix is introduced into the traditional Beehive kiln at high temperatures. The salt helps to disperse the soda more evenly over the pots in the large kiln. The mix vapourises in the kiln and combines with the silica in the clay to create naturally forming patterns on the pots giving each piece a truly unique style. Colour variations are achieved from the pot placement within the kiln, those high on the stacks getting a heavy soda flash resulting in green tones and those towards the base of the kiln resulting in a more buff earthy brown. With many beautiful shades in between, the kiln ultimately having the final say on the finished look of each pot. Size 45 Dia 28 Ht cm
