The Rankei is a Japanese style lantern which has been carved from a light grey granite. Originally found over hanging ponds and streams where the architectural design is reflected, the arching coloumn creates a strong focal feature and draws the eye up towards the intricate handcarved pieces that make up the centre of attention on this piece. Comes in 6 pieces that sit on top of each other. With the curved column fitting into a recess within the base stone. For added stability against high winds or in areas where it may be knocked by children and pets, the pieces can be joined together with a suitable adhesive for outdoor use.
