Large salt glazed pillar with a fine ribbed body and & imprint, a stamp used by Karl the potter which you will find on many of his one of a kind pieces. Areas have been highlighted with a white porcelain slip offering a contrast of light and shade to the salt glaze which is heightened by the glow of the candle light. The turned top gives ample room for a large pillar candle or a number of smaller candles to create a warming ambience in the home with a lipped base to collect any runaway wax. This handmade piece is heavy giving great stability. Works as a stand alone piece or grouped together with our other candle pillars in various hights for a more dramatic effect. The cylinder has been wheel thrown with a turned rim and base. Deep ridges have been carved using specialist tools and measured by eye to replicate the coloumns that flag the entrance of Seaton Delaval Hall. Decorative rope swirl handles have been added to each side of the cylinder and finished with a circle sprig.
Natural earthy colours from an ER handmade glaze sweep the outside of this piece on a matt body. Inside is smooth with a transparent glaze that highlights the natural body of the clay.

The ER pottery is sited and still works from the former woollen mill, with the production of textiles represented in this sculptural piece. The organic form shows the free flowing movement of fabric with a central seam running down the middle. This handthrown and manipulated vessel has a dark salt glaze enhanced by a special slip produced in house and has been finished in our coal fired Beehive kiln with a borax glazed base inside.

Extra large bellied pot with a flared rim, line detail on the inner rim and a smooth base featuring waved banding and a sodium silicate crackle glaze body which has ben patterned and stretched on the wheel. Soda fired showing beautiful greens in the glaze and natural patterning.
In this atmospheric firing technique a soda and salt mix is introduced into the traditional Beehive kiln at high temperatures. The salt helps to disperse the soda more evenly over the pots in the large kiln. The mix vapourises in the kiln and combines with the silica in the clay to create naturally forming patterns on the pots giving each piece a truly unique style. Colour variations are achieved from the pot placement within the kiln, those high on the stacks getting a heavy soda flash resulting in green tones and those towards the base of the kiln resulting in a more buff earthy brown. With many beautiful shades in between, the kiln ultimately having the final say on the finished look of each pot.

The largest salt glazed pot we make at Errington Reay pottery. The PL1 plain pots require a great deal of skill and energy to produce due to their size, our potters will often be found standing above the potters wheel to pull and finish these pieces to our high standards. Fired in our traditional beehive kiln in Northumberland with our signature salt glazed finish. Size 53 Dia 58 Ht cm -
An elegant piece to add a stately feel to any outdoor area. This large marble sculpture can be left as it is for a focal point or used as a fountain with a pre drilled channel running through the centre of the piece (pump included) a sturdy base would be needed for the statue to sit upon within a body of water.
Standing at 165 cm high it will definitely take centre stage in its chosen spot, carved from one large piece of soft peach coloured marble with a chiselled finish giving contrast against the smooth polished features of the goddess figure.
This is a solid and very heavy item which will require consideration when moving in to place, with machinery and manpower required.
