Course: Learn how to be a proper potter in our introductory class suitable for beginners and those who would like to test their skill on the wheel.
Held in our pottery workshop you will be immersed in a real working pottery environment alongside our expert potters, an experience different from anything else!
This class will introduce you to clay and focus on wheel thrown pottery where you will be taught how to centre and throw a cylinder pot out of terracotta along with expert tips and advice to give you the best results.
This creative session will be led by our pottery studio teacher El who has over 10yrs experience working in ceramics and trained at the clay college in Middleport, Stoke on Trent. El has also previously worked as a technician and teacher in a London pottery.
With small group sizes of 4 people per session there will be plenty hands-on experience as you will be sat at your own wheel whilst receiving all the tuition needed to produce the perfect pot or 3.
By the end of the session you will have produced your final piece that will then be dried, glazed with our in-house ER slip and fired in the electric kiln. Additional pieces can be fired also at an added charge. Your pieces will then be ready to collect a minimum of 3 weeks later. We will be in touch once they are ready.
Remember this could get messy so please come dressed appropriately or bring an apron.
